Dog treats for our Barbets

Oatmeal & Pumpkin 1-2-3 Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats (not quick-cooking)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup pure pumpkin purée

Note: You can use pre-ground oat flour for even more convenience. Adjust the quantity of flour in your recipe to get the desired consistency of a dough that you can roll out.

These 3 ingredient dog treats are sure to be a hit with your Barbet. They are as easy to make as 1,2,3!

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C)
  2. Add oats to the bowl of a food processor.
  3. Let machine run until the oats are the consistency of flour.
  4. Add pumpkin purée and eggs, mix to combine until dough looks uniform.
  5. If your dough is too wet you can add extra flour to the mix.
  6. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and shape into a disk, adding more flour if it's too sticky.
  7. Roll the dough to about 1/8" thickness and cut with a cookie cutter.
  8. Place the cookies on a parchment or silpat lined sheet pan.
  9. Bake for 16 - 20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through the baking time.
  10. Let cookies cool on a baking rack.

Cookies will keep in an airtight container for a week at a coolish room temperature. You can refrigerate them for up to two weeks and freeze for a few months if you want them to last longer.
