CH Northrock's Song of the Sea

D.O.B. March 29, 2023
Sire: GCHS Treebeard's Open The Pod Doors (call name Seven)
Dam: Northrock's Polynesian Princess CGN (call name Kamea)

OFA Hip, Elbow, Cardiac and Eye clearances are listed on the OFA database

Clear by parentage for dilution and prcd-pra. DNA test results to follow.

Height:  22 ½"   Weight:  55 lbs

Kalia was the only girl in our Seven and Kamea litter and we are so pleased with how she has matured.  A super smart pup she quickly picks up new skills, and enjoys going to agility classes with her co-owners Rob and Karen. She is a devoted companion to her family and will smile, curling back her lips, grinning to make you laugh.

A strong, solidly built female, she is at the larger end of the breed standard. Her thick, curly coat is a beautiful clear white with chestnut brown patches that have faded as she has matured. Kalia has a lovely head with dark hazel eyes and an endearing expression.

In the fall of 2023 she strutted her stuff in the ring and picked up several points towards her CKC championship. Kalia had a blast learning to be a show dog and made many new friends and admirers. She completed the requirements for her title at the end of December 2023 at the Elora Gorge Kennel Club shows.

In April 2025 Kalia passed the required health testing for the breed.  We are thrilled that she is able to join our breeding program.

CH Northrock's Quintessential Joy ATD

Sire: CH Treebeard's Optimus Prime (call name Olaf)
Dam CH Northrock's For The Joy Of It ATD CGN (call name Rizzo)

OFA Hip, Elbow, Cardiac, and Eye clearances are listed on the OFA Database

Locus D, Gene MLPH: Clear for Dilution, prcd-PRA: Clear, CHIC #: 187896

Height:  20 ¾"   Weight:  42 lbs

Frenchie has a bubbly and vivacious personality. Her happy energy draws people in which suits her just fine as she is very people oriented and loves meeting and making new friends.  She lives with her co-owner Joy Hettler and her mother Rizzo (BPISS CH Northrock's For The Joy of It ATD CGN).  Frenchie has an extensive repertoire of tricks and loves to show them off for treats. She earned her Advanced Trick Dog title in December 2023.

Her black and white woolly coat with its profuse curls is quite eye catching.  Her dark brown eyes, sometimes alight with mischief, give her a kind expression. With a balanced structure and easy movement she quickly finished her CKC Championship after just a handful of shows as a puppy.

Frenchie whelped her first litter of nine beautiful puppies on May 16, 2024. Sired by GCH Roi de Thulé Sire River Treebeard RE CGN, two of their puppies are pointed towards their CKC championships. On February 8, 2025 we welcomed Frenchie's second litter of nine puppies, the result of a repeat breeding to River. We are ever so pleased with the puppies these two wonderful Barbets produced together.

Gilda

Northrock's U Walk With Me

D.O.B. May 16, 2024
Sire: GCH Roi De Thulé River Treebeard RE CGN (call name River)
Dam CH Northrock’s Quintessential Joy ATD (call name Frenchie)

OFA Hip, Elbow, Cardiac, and Eye clearances upon maturity

Gilda is one of our up and coming youngsters at Northrock. True to her namesake, Gilda Radner she provides an endless source of comic relief in the house and keeps everyone entertained.

She started showing at the end of 2024. A pretty mover, with balanced proportions and flashy markings we hope to complete her championship in 2025.

Phoebe is co-owned with Lise Pomeroy and shares her home with her grand-dam Ellie. She is the perfect mix of sweetness and fun.  This lucky pup, enjoys an active lifestyle with her owners and is a terrific companion on camping trips and day hikes. She even likes shopping and will often accompany her owners on errands to stores.

She has a very pleasing expression with a beautiful, round and broad head. Her white and chestnut brown coat is covered in thick, looser curls. Phoebe has a well developed chest and balanced, correct angulation.  She quickly finished her CKC Championship in early 2022.

In September 2023 Phoebe passed the required health testing for the breed and was able to join our breeding program.

In the spring of 2015 Summer travelled all the way to Canada from the Netherlands and was welcomed here with open arms. We are so grateful to her breeder Anne Plomp and to Miska Aksular for entrusting us with this beautiful ray of sunshine who has brightened our lives.

A pretty Barbet, Summer has obtained both her UKC and CKC Conformation Championships as well as titles in Trick Dog, Rally and Obedience but her achievement of which we are the most proud is her Therapy Dog title.  A child certified therapy dog with Therapeutic Paws of Canada, Summer enjoyed the attention she received when visiting with people at our community schools, libraries and hospital.
She has had one litter of two males sired by CH Northrock's Athos Pascal which was born on January 17, 2019 and both of her offspring are doing well.

CH Northrock's Goodness Gracious ATD CGN

D.O.B. May 23, 2017
Sire: Dutch CH Nuphar's Everything Zen (call name Billy)
Dam BPIS CH Northrock's Eureka CGN (call name Lexi)

OFA Hip, Elbow, Eye and Cardiac clearances are listed on the OFA database

Locus D, Gene MLPH: Clear for Dilution, prcd-PRA: Clear, CHIC #: 143693

Height:  21 1/2“   Weight:  48 lbs

I fell for this sweet, pretty Barbet puppy from the minute she was born.  As the weeks went by it was clear that she would be staying on as our keeper from our Billy and Lexi litter.  Sired by Dutch champion, Nuphar's Everything Zen - we are ever so thankful for the science that allowed us to import frozen semen for this special breeding.  Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Billy's owner Olav van Schie and his breeder Anne Plomp for their friendship and co-operation in making this litter a reality.

In the early spring of 2018, Gracie very quickly earned her CKC championship. Not just a pretty face she also has her Canine Good Neighbour and Advanced Trick Dog titles to her credit.

Gracie has such lovely breed type; a beautiful head, correct tail set, nice substance and a wonderful coat are some of her attributes. Her gentle personality has us all smitten with her.  We love how she will happily roll over for belly rubs and enjoys crawling up into our laps for a cuddle. She has a fun and friendly personality and I am looking forward to the adventures we will have together.

On December 8, 2019 Gracie's first litter of nine beautiful Barbet puppies was born sired by GCH Polnareff vom Zulimo.  On October 26, 2020 Gracie whelped her second litter and we and welcomed ten wonderful puppies by GCH Barbevoix Oscar De Northrock CGN into the world.  Gracie's third litter, a sweet singleton sired by CH Northrock's Jedi At Patronum was born on March 18, 2022.  As our Northrock family continues to grow we are enjoying supporting the families who brought one of Gracie's puppies home and we share in their delight as their young Barbets grow and develop.
