Born on November 2, 2014, Ellie is fabulous Barbet who quickly endears herself to everyone she meets. Confident and outgoing she has no difficulty making friends. Her happy attitude and pretty movement caught the eye of several judges and we are grateful to them for recognizing her quality. In July of 2015 Ellie finished her Canadian Championship as a junior puppy winning two Best Puppy in Sporting Group placements along the way. Co-owned with Lise Pomeroy and her husband they enjoy lots of time outdoors hiking and camping. In the spring of 2018 Ellie became a Therapy Dog with St. John Ambulance bringing much joy to those she visits with in her community.
Ellie has made a wonderful contribution to the breed. Thanks to the co-operation and dedication of their owners, from her two litters of fourteen beautiful Barbet puppies, four of her offspring have obtained their CKC Championships and two are pointed towards theirs. One is also a UKC Champion (with a Reserve Best In Show to her credit), and three have earned their Canine Good Neighbour temperament titles. Ellie's puppies have been passing on her wonderful virtues and have produced litters of quality Barbet puppies here at Northrock Barbets as well as for other Barbet breeders.
Lexi was born on November 2, 2014. She is sweet and affectionate and an active part of her family’s life. Lexi gets to spend lots of time at the family cottage where she is really in her element, swimming and running around enjoying nature.
In July 2015 Lexi earned her CKC Canine Good Neighbour title. In limited showing she has been awarded multiple Best Puppy in Sporting Group wins as well as a Best Puppy in Show. Lexi finished her CKC Conformation Championship title in September 2015 under breeder judge Ms. Wendy Schira.
I am incredibly grateful to her family and co-owner Delia Bucknell for sharing their girl with me. Out of the ten puppies in her two wonderful litters, she has produced five CKC Champions. Some of these offspring are now contributing to our own as well as the breeding programs of other Barbet breeders. We are very pleased with the quality we are seeing in this next generation of Barbet puppies.
Boomer was born on August 2, 2012. He is a fun, playful dog who lives with his co-owner Robert Souchereau and Sylvie Marleau who also own Dougy his sire (FCC CH, Can CH Barbugaulois Daragon). Boomer has passed all of his health clearances with OFA Good Hips, Normal Elbows and Normal Eyes. He is clear for prcd- PRA and dilution. Boomer is a compact, moderate male with good bone and nice, balanced angulation. A lovely, clean moving dog with a masculine head, good ear set and excellent dentition, we are very pleased with how Boomer has matured. His black coat is thick and wavy with white markings.
Boomer's first litter was born April 15, 2015. He was bred to FCC/CKC CH BleuZorange Xil dite Charlie at BleuZorange Barbets. It is a litter of 9 puppies who are maturing into loving, healthy adults that are wonderful companions to their owners. His second litter of 2 puppies was born out of GCH WulYmut's Jelly Tot (Emma) on January 14, 2017 at WulYmut Barbets followed shortly by a third litter of 8 born on January 16, 2017 here at Northrock Barbets out of UR01 CH Northrock's Eau de Joy CGN. Boomer's fourth litter of 8 beautiful puppies was born at Barbevoix Barbets out of Barbevoix Spezia dit Holala on April 6, 2018.
Boomer has produced champion offspring in every litter that he has sired. We are grateful to the breeders and owners of his puppies for their contribution to this wonderful achievement. Several of his puppies have gone on to contribute to the breeding programs of other Barbet breeders as well as our own program here at Northrock Barbets.

Sophie was a fun loving dog and a delight to train. She earned titles in conformation, field work, obedience and rally and a Canine Good Neighbour temperament title as well. She was a big part of our family life. She especially loved going to the cottage where she enjoyed the boating and swimming immensely. Our thanks to Florence Erwin, Sophie's breeder, for our wonderful girl. We are so grateful for our little woolly lamb chop that brought so much joy to our family and who grew up along side our young children.
Sophie's legacy will continue in her descendants. Her puppies have gone on to become wonderful companions to their owners. She has produced offspring titled in conformation, agility, barn hunt, dock diving and rally-obedience. Some of her pups have have earned temperament titles, three are practicing therapy dogs, and one of them also hunts with her owner each fall.
Sophie left us suddenly and tragically at ten years of age. She was an active and energetic dog and with her happy and enthusiastic nature she was regularly mistaken as the youngest in the family. In the early morning hours of October 5th we awoke to find her in crisis and she was taken to the emergency vet where we said our final goodbyes. The one consolation we have is that the cause of her death is not considered to be heritable and thankfully we do not have to be worried for any of her offspring. Sophie was an amazing dog and is deeply missed. She will live on in our hearts forever.
Kelly was our keeper puppy from our first litter here at Northrock Barbets. She is a very sweet girl and brought a great deal of joy to our home. She enjoys the water, is a pleasure to live with and loves to retrieve.
In August 2013 Kelly earned her CKC Working Certificate title and we have played together in agility and tracking. At 18 months of age, in her first weekend out showing, Kelly won the Sporting Group twice and enjoyed herself immensely. She quickly went on to finish her Championship entirely with Group placements. We are delighted with her success in the show ring. During the spring of 2014, in limited showing, Kelly went on to earn many more group placements. She very quickly garnered the necessary points for the CKC Grand Champion title, adding it to her name in June of that year. We are so pleased that so many judges have recognized her quality and awarded Kelly in the show ring.
Although Kelly now shares her life with another family we will forever be grateful for the years we have spent with her and for the wonderful memories we made together. She is much loved by her new owners and I'm thankful to them for opening up their hearts and homes to our special girl. Kelly is now a registered Therapy Dog with Therapeutic Paws of Canada and along with her owner Karen, the two of them very much enjoy their visits to the seniors centre where they volunteer. When she's not "working" she enjoys going on lots of long hikes with her active owners.
