Northrock Barbets Stewardship Program

At Northrock we are committed to being responsible breeders, owners and caretakers of the Barbet breed. We adore our dogs and are working to ensure that the breed we care about so deeply, will be there for future generations to love and enjoy. With each breeding, we strive to produce Barbet puppies that are sound, healthy, well-tempered and beautiful representatives of the breed. Over the years we have placed particularly promising puppies with special owners  where they were able to thrive as family companions while also contributing to the careful growth and preservation of the Barbet breed.

We are grateful to the families in our Barbet Stewardship Program, who have worked with us by allowing us to borrow their Barbets so that we might: 

• promote the breed at CKC conformation events
• carry out the recommended health tests for the breed
• help to develop and safeguard important bloodlines by keeping their male or female intact to be used in a responsible breeding program 

This collaboration has resulted in many good friendships and has helped to preserve the Barbet gene pool and secure our breed's future.
